Chestertown, MD — Today, Heather Mizeur announced that her campaign has again outperformed incumbent Rep. Andy Harris, as small-dollar donors continue to flock to her grassroots campaign. Mizeur raised a total of $244,517 for the pre-primary period of 2022, which ended June 29. She also outraised Harris in each of the four fundraising quarters in 2021, and has raised significantly more than him in the election cycle.
The vast majority of the Mizeur campaign’s donations this period again came from in-state, small-dollar supporters – 84 percent of donations were $100 or less, and 85 percent of donors were from Maryland. This sharply contrasts with the Harris campaign, which brought in less than $100,000 from individual donors in the period, relying heavily on contributions from corporate PACs and organizations that reflect his brand of right-wing extremism. Mizeur, who lives in Chestertown, does not accept corporate PAC money.
