Chestertown, MD – Heather Mizeur, Democratic nominee for Congress in Maryland’s First District, today announced that the third quarter of 2022 was her best fundraising period of the campaign by far, bringing in over $542,000 and nearly doubling the $274,000 raised by Rep. Andy Harris. The vast majority of Mizeur’s donations were from grassroots supporters in Maryland.

With her campaign to defeat Harris gaining intensity in the weeks leading up to Election Day, Mizeur reported raising nearly 50 percent more than in her previous best period. Donors giving $100 or less accounted for 81 percent of contributions in the quarter, and Marylanders represented fully 85 percent of all donors.

Mizeur’s campaign has raised a total of over $2.57 million since the start of the campaign, consistently outraising Harris despite her refusal to accept corporate PAC money.

“This surge of support energizes our campaign in the homestretch and ensures that we can continue presenting voters the truth about Andy Harris’ extremism and my commitment to bringing everyone together to find bipartisan solutions,” said Heather Mizeur, candidate for Congress in MD-01. “Unlike Andy Harris, who relies on corporate PAC funding, we are powered by the people – and I will always put First District voters first.”

Heather Mizeur, a former state delegate and candidate for governor, lives on a farm outside Chestertown in Kent County with her wife, Deborah.
