Chestertown, MD — On the eve of Maryland’s primary – one of the first elections in the U.S. since the fall of Roe v. Wade – two leading national abortion-rights organizations today reaffirmed their strong support for Heather Mizeur to be the Democratic nominee in Maryland’s First Congressional District.
Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said: “With Roe v. Wade overturned and radical anti-abortion politicians plotting their next move, we need Heather Mizeur’s voice in Washington, D.C. more than ever. Planned Parenthood Action Fund urges Maryland’s First District residents to vote for Heather in the July 19th primary.”
“Heather Mizeur has been a pro-choice champion for decades,” noted Laphonza Butler, president of EMILY’s List. “Given Heather’s deep health policy expertise and uncompromising insistence on women’s fundamental rights, First District voters have a clear choice on July 19th.”
